RELEASE, RELAX AND RE-BALANCE

You are invited to join Sasha on her monthly workshops at The Sunflower Centre; to allow you the opportunity to slow down and take time out for yourself. A monthly Yin and Restorative Yoga workshop, with Qi Gong, Meditation, Breathwork and Seasonal Living Wisdom.  The workshops shall be held on the first Saturday of every month, and are intended to be three blissful hours of self-care.

What to expect:

The workshop will focus on floor based passive Yoga practices of both Yin and Restorative Yoga and everybody is welcome. Sasha is an experienced and skilled teacher and will offer individual support and attention within an inclusive space.

Yin Yoga is a permissive form of Yoga where shapes are long held, and this allows space for self-enquiry.  The practice of Yin can help to release the deep fascia of the body, which is the material found throughout our body, which helps support our joints and organs. This can be useful to increase our range of movement and to create more ease within our bodies. Yin Yoga can also help with the flow of energy or ‘Qi’. Yoga props shall be available if required. The Yin practice this month will nourish both Liver, Gallbladder + Heart meridian pathways as we transition from Spring into Summer. Sasha will also share acupressure points for balancing the emotions.

Restorative Yoga is when the body is fully supported by props, such as Yoga bricks, blocks, folded blankets and bolsters, to allow the body to fully relax and switch into the Parasympathetic nervous system.  Shapes are about being rather than doing and the emphasis is on comfort and deep rest.  When we rest deeply our muscles release, our blood pressure and stress hormone levels drop and our heart rate, breathing and brain waves slow down.  Restorative Yoga can be useful if you experience stress, burn out, sleep issues and simply to help re-balance the business of life.

The workshops will weave in aspects of Qi Gong (gentle standing movements) which cultivates smooth flow of Qi. As well as seated Mindfulness Meditation, simple Breathwork techniques to help calm and soothe.  As well as seasonal living wisdom based on Chinese 5 element theory, which encourages us to live as part of nature and observe the seasons.

Treat yourself to this monthly workshop, as an act of self-care, become part of a community and learn self-care and mindfulness practices to take away and include in your daily life.

YOGIC SOUND

Sasha regularly collaborates with Martina Saorin of Yogic Sound.

A 200hrs certified teacher, specialising in Hatha Yoga as well as being an Advanced Yin Yoga teacher, Restorative Yoga Teacher, a Level 3 Reiki Master practitioner and a Sound facilitator.

All her experiences and training have brought her to create “Yogic Sound”.

This concept combines yoga with the transformative power of the Gongs and Himalayan bowls, with the intention of bringing the body back to its natural state of balance and harmony.

A sound bath is a form of sound therapy where the gongs and other instruments are played in a therapeutic way to bring relaxation and healing.
