YOGA + LIFE JOURNEY
In her early twenties Sasha went to her first yoga class. She enjoyed the sensations of stretching and the relaxation it bought.
In her mid thirties, after the end of a long-term relationship she leaned much deeper into yoga, at a time when she was finding life difficult.
& In July 2021 Sasha was diagnosed with an aggressive stage three Breast Cancer. She was 46. She has recently been through treatment and surgery. It has been life changing for her, but she was fortunate that the treatment was successful. Yin Yoga in particular has supported Sasha in her recovery from surgery.
Sasha originally trained in India where, over the course of two years, she completed 400 hours of training. First with Bharath Shetty in Mysore. Followed by further training in Hatha +Ashtanga with Melanie Cooper and Laura Gilmore.
However it was when she discovered Yin yoga with Norman Blair in London in 2013, she realised that Yoga could also be about letting go, compassion and non striving. Sasha has since completed over 200 hours in Yin Yoga trainings with Norman Blair, Bernie Clark and Paul Grilley.
Sasha has also trained in Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lassater and Vinyasa Flow+ Five element Qi Gong with Mimi Kuo Deemer.
She has developed a curiosity for Qi Gong, a practice that helps cultivate and enable the smooth flow of Qi within the body. Sasha has learned about the Chinese medicine 5 element model + the energetics of our bodies, in relation to Yin Yoga and Qi Gong.
As her teacher, mentor and friend Norman Blair say’s ‘Life has inevitable difficulties.’ How we choose to navigate those difficulties is up to us.
Sasha welcomes everybody to her classes and workshops & she recognises and acknowledges; that you each come with your own personal story.
